Baragwi AB
Nestled in the Kirinyaga District near Mt. Kenya, the Muchagara factory has been crafting exceptional coffees since 1959, making it one of the region's oldest processing hubs. Operating under the Baragwi Farmers Cooperative Society, over 1,500 local smallholders bring their handpicked Batian, SL-34, Ruiru 11, and SL-28 cherries here for processing. After meticulous density sorting, the cherries undergo an 8-to-12-hour overnight fermentation, a thorough washing through tiled channels, and a 16-to-18-hour soak in fresh stream water before sun-drying on raised metal beds for up to 14 days.
