Carmen de la Frontera is a district in the Huancabamba province of Peru’s Piura region, bordering both Namballe in Cajamarca and Ecuador. This remote region extends into the clouds, around 3,000 meters above sea level, where potatoes and tubers are the only crops grown. At coffee-growing heights, coffee is interspersed with sugar cane production for their own use.
