Whiskey Barrel: Our Barrel-aged Coffee
Pour this one when the work is done and the lamps are low. Single-origin Guatemalan beans from Huehuetenango rest 30-plus days in a used whiskey barrel, then roast to a smooth medium that's never dark, never harsh. The barrel lends whiskey-and-oak aroma over Huehuetenango's own warm core of brown sugar and nougat, with a bright lemon-lime lift that keeps it lively. Medium body, medium acidity, and no alcohol in the finished cup, just the soul of the barrel and a finish worth lingering over. It's the after-dinner pour and the gift that earns a second look.
