Colombia La Palma is Wu Wei Coffee’s first direct trade single origin coffee from the Santander Region of Colombia. La Palma farm, part of the Cañaveral Bajo (low cane field) region translates to ‘The Palm’ named after the soaring 20’ surrounding palm trees, before the cultivation of coffee the farm held a sugar cane plantation farm. Unaware to many, but palm trees play an important role in the coffee ecosystem by providing shade to the coffee trees, protecting them from excess sunlight. Tasting notes of coffee cultivated in this area are typically noted for their chocolate and hazelnut proper
