India Monsooned Malabar (Medium/Dark Roast)

Region: Southern India Altitude: 1,000 – 1,200 masl Varieties: Kent, S795, Catimor Flavor notes: Unique smokey, spiciness and nutiness from the monsoon process, medium body and mellow acidity The monsooning process is meant to imitate what used to happen to these beans during their long journeys in exposed wooden ships. Nowadays, the beans are laid out to age during the wet, windy, monsoon season which results in the beans swelling to twice their size and taking on a lovely gold color.
