Our Sumatra Double Vaughn Dutch is grown by smallholder farmers on the Indonesian island and gets its bold personality from wet-hulling, a local method where the beans are hulled while still damp. That step gives Sumatran coffee its signature heavy body and deep, rustic character. The name comes with a Midwest story. Our importer in Kansas City named this lot after Vaughn Neblock, who started buying green coffee for Folgers in 1945 at just 18 years old.
