I sensed Thai peanut sauce, nut brittle, with notes of brown ale, with dense, dark, rustic cocoa behind it. My favorite roast for brewing was medium-dark though a slightly lighter level reveals more of the umami characteristics and a hint of acidity, which I think some will really enjoy.
