Peaberry - 100% Kaʻū Coffee
Concentrated and clean, caramel sweetness, a fuller body, and a brighter finish than any flat bean on our farms. Most coffee cherries hold two seeds that grow flat against each other. In roughly 5 to 10% of a harvest, only one seed develops and with the whole cherry to itself, it grows round instead of flat. That is a peaberry. You cannot plant it. It has to be separated out during milling, one screen at a time. The round bean is also denser, so it roasts more evenly than a flat bean.
