Ethiopia Guji
Some coffees kick the door in. This one just leans in the frame and waits for you to notice. New-crop Guji is all quiet citrus and good manners. Meyer lemon out front (the gentle kind, the one that never sharpens into anything), cool melon behind it, oolong humming dry underneath, clover honey pooling at the bottom to keep the whole thing tethered to earth. Grown high in Hadeso, way out in Shakiso, on farms you measure in fractions of a hectare and reach by motorcycle down roads that turn to soup every harvest. Delicate coffee, hard-won, and about as summer as a cup gets.
