STORY La Esperanza is run by Mr. Esmérita Vásquez. She is 53 years old and lives in the town of La Coipa in the Cajamarca region of Peru. Her farm is located in el Cautivo Sector and she walks from her home to her farm. It takes about 40-50 minutes for her to get there by foot. She farms Typica, Caturra and a small amount of Gesha. Her farming style is quite rustic, but the varietal selection speaks for itself. Esmérita and her husband do all the work on the harvest, so days get long and mobility is difficult. But therein lies some of the magic to this cup — because it’s just the two of them (
