Microcosm Coffee - Rwanda Abakundakawa medium-dark roast — microcosm coffee roasters
Dark chocolate, dried fruit, nutty cocoa, and a thread of anise. Grown at 1,795 meters on the volcanic slopes of Rwanda's Gakenke district, washed processing, Bourbon cultivar. The cooperative Abakundakawa was registered in 2004 starting with 180 farmers. Today it's nearly 2,000 members strong, running two of their own washing stations. The co-op pays dividends back to its members and reinvests in local infrastructure — including funding a clean water project for a nearby hospital.
